Lot 1010 FULLY TRANSFERABLE J.P. FOOTE & CO. STEYR MP-40

SUBMACHINE GUN. Cal. 9mm (9x19mm Parabellum). S# 5190d. Bbl. 10". MP-40 submachine gun registered by J.P. Foote & Co. Left side of the receiver is marked with Steyr's "bnz" mfg. code, followed by 2 Steyr Eagle/WaA623 proofs and the S#. Underside of receiver tube is engraved "J,P, FOOTE & CO./ MARIETTA GA". Steyr mfg. lower assembly is marked "MP40/ bnz. 42/ 7441/ d" over the top, with "bnz" and an Eagle/WaA625 proof marked on the left. "COS" marked front sight hood with Erma Eagle/280 proof on bbl. and bbl. nut. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Lower assembly is complete with brown bakelite body and 2-piece grooved brown bakelite grips. Fixed blade front sight with 2-leaf rear sight graduated "200" and "400". Bbl. assembly (bbl., bbl. nut, resting bar, and front sight) does not match, but matches itself. Lower assembly (housing, trigger guard, and under-folding stock) does not match, but matches itself. Bolt assembly is mismatched. MAGS: 1 blued steel 32-rd. mag. Left side of mag. is marked "M.P.38u.40", with Steyr's "kur" mfg. code, 2-digit year of mfg. "43" and 2 Steyr Warsaw plant Eagle/WaA815" proofs marked on the rear. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some light to mild operational wear along the charging handle channel, with areas of light to mild pitting present beneath the bluing. Right side of folding stock exhibits a patch of mild pitting and finish loss. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining good, albeit worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Bakelite furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with some cracking present around the takedown pin area.
